Review of The Art Institutes

from Las Vegas, NV

Describe your college in three sentences.

The Art Institute knows what they're doing when it comes to their facilities. I'm in the Culinary classes - I love the cooking laboratories. Unfortunately, though, it's pricey and some procedures seem outdated.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Do your research. Don't go there without any knowledge of what you want from them. It will make the entire admissions process so much easier if you know what you want. This included the financial aid office - be prepared. My first visit into the financial aid office felt like I was talking to a salesperson. As long as you've done your research, you will be fine.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

Personally, I don't think the classes are too hard. I love the topic matter I am studying and enjoy learning about it. Many, though, struggled with the work.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

I have not been to the dorms.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

Culinary program + food = mmm. There is a mess room that the culinary students work at and sell food on a daily basis. They also have a restaurant on the second floor, which is run by students from a specific class. It's pretty good.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

The student services center is always doing something interesting each week. Just check it out and see if there is something you'll want to do!
