Review of Southern New Hampshire University- Online
from Florence, SC
Describe your college in three sentences.
They are very friendly and active - always willing to answer any and all of my many questions!
They helped me step-by-step in my enrollment process, as well as in getting financial aid.
The classes are short and to the point, only teaching what we need to know - something I consider to be a necessity.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Don't hesitate to contact them about enrolling, getting financial aid, experiences technical issues, etc because they are very personable with every student!
Be prepared for an e-mail or phone call from your advisor every now and then. They check up on me regularly to make sure things are going well and to answer any questions.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
Some of the classes are more difficult while some are pretty easy (in my opinion). The beginning classes like the first history class you take, for example, may seem easy but they build up with each class.
I'm in my second history class (the last one I actually need) and I have noticed familiar things brought up in my first class, and that has helped me understand what I might not have the first time.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
Since I'm attending online school, this doesn't really apply to me, but I would like to think their dorms are amazing...based on how I've been treated anyway.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
Again, this doesn't really apply to me because of the online school, but SNHU has been extremely flexible with me so I think they would have good food and meal plans for their students.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
I don't live in New Hampshire, but as far as what I personally like to do for fun, I write (hence my Creative Writing program). I enjoy creating stories out of my experiences, emotions, etc and making something people like to read.
With my past experiences at a technical college, I enjoyed sitting outside on pretty days or in the library on rainy and chilly days writing. In fact, I wrote my entire first draft of my first novel (which I am still working on) in the library of my previous technical college.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
I give this four stars simply because I have found other smaller colleges that offer online programs but, since I've enrolled at SNHU Online, I've been treated so well that the slightly higher price and amazing customer service is well-worth what the tuition costs.
