


Morton College
Overview
Originally housed in a local high school, Morton College is a 2-year institution and the second oldest community college in Illinois. Morton is home to eight academic departments offering associate degrees and certificate programs. Additionally, Morton provides the opportunity to study abroad in Europe, Costa Rica, and China through its participation in the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs. The Morton campus also houses the Hawthorne Works Museum, a collection of artifacts from the era when the surrounding area was known as “the electrical capital of the world.”
