I really enjoy learning at Moody Bible Institute, I have taken online courses, and am going to the Chicago campus this coming 2009 fall semester. The education is a specialized and quality centered one. The ministry of Moody is truly the focus of the school. Each student receives a BA in Bible as well as whatever major you chose.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
The atmosphere is one of welcome and inviting. Students are friendly and caring. The teachers are truly concerned with their student's education, and will help in any way possible.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Moody Bible Institute is a tuition-paid school, there are many organizations and individuals who donate to the school, paying for your education. This is really a great thing! what the students have to pay for is only room and board for living in either Chicago IL, or Spokane WA.
This does make it a little harder to get the money for the room and board. Because it is a tuition-paid school, Moody is not federally funded, which means that you cannot use any federal aid at all. No loans, grants or scholarships are accepted from the government.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Because Moody Bible is so well known, and a tuition-paid institute, getting in is a very competitive process. In your application you should really show that you are serious about the program, that you really want the Moody education that you will receive.
Another thing you could do, is do some online classes before applying, this will give you a head start, and an in at the school.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Moody is a ministry school. There is no question about it, don't go here if you are not planning to go into Ministry somewhere. The great Christian atmosphere is what Moody is known for, and true focus on the Bible is what it does. It is not for people who are not willing to go the extra mile for Christ.
