Describe your college in three sentences.

it provides diverse, rigorous academia. green mountain college allows to solidify relationships with the teachers and faculty. this college has taught me more about climate change and its future endeavors through human exploitation.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

do not expect this quality of your education to be easy. this school has challenged me in more ways than any other academic program i have ever endured. the rigor and applications of the courses you take at green mountain college can be life changing through either the professor or just the topics of the class.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

a lot of the classes require that you apply yourself. all of this while learning about the environment is something that is vital to ones' education as we live in a world where global warming is going to impact the future. the biology program is amazing as i have had some of the best professors who are willing to go above and beyond to make sure we get where we need to go.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

dorm life is great. although the buildings are old and the rooms are not as clean or new, there are more free range activities that occur in the dorm. there is one ra per floor, and it is a wet campus. they have people help move in the freshman, which is great. people who live on your floor are particularly friendly at this school, so you make friends fast and you never feel alone.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

the quality of the food is not too bad; however, it is usually the same thing every week. there are always lunch meats, pizza, ice cream, salads, soups, and bread. they have vegan and vegetarian options. there is also a gluten free option for any of those who do not want to consume, or cannot consume, gluten.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

depending on your friend group, there a lot of activities. some people grill outside and basically have potluck. there is a volleyball court and other open grass space. some people slack walk, others sit outside and enjoy the weather. in the winter we are close to killington and pico mountain, where we get seasons pass for cheap as college students. there is the soccer field out back and the baseball field. there is a gym and basketball court for anyone who wants to workout. there are many theatrical facilities on campus as well. you can always find something to your liking, no matter what your interests are.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

the fire, down by the poultney river. this is for the nightlife. it is for anyone who wants to have a good time at night by a fire and singing along with friends. some people just go there to hangout and talk.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

it is great for anyone who enjoys being outdoors, as green mountain college has an adventure education program. students go on block for nearly a whole a month and learn what it is like to live in the woods. this school is big on the environment as it has the sustainability 2020 rules implemented and every ela requirement tries to get the students to understand its pertinence.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

the clubs here are more involved than most schools. because of the small population, these clubs are more focused toward the individual and what they want to get out of their experience.

there are no fraternities or sororities. however, this does not mean that someone cannot create their own chapter.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

if there is a problem, campus security is usually there. i would love to see more security cameras around campus--i think this should be required for optimal service. poultney is such a small town that it may not even make a difference.
