Review of Daniel Webster College

from Boston, MA

Describe your college in three sentences.

It is an excellent small school where you quickly make a lot of friends. The classes are really interesting and small. All of the professors truly care about making you successful.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Don't be afraid to get involved in as many things as you can even if those activities have nothing to do with your major. Make sure you get to know your professors because you will be working very closely with them for the duration of your studies.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

As an aeronautical engineering student, my classes are especially tough. However, every program has its own challenges that that force students to fully invest themselves in their studies in order to succeed.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

The dorms aren't the most beautiful rooms. However, the res life staff are excellent and are always coming up with awesome things for residents to do to have fun and take a break from all the homework.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

The food is decent, and there is always a wide variety of options. However, the plates and silverware have been known to not be thoroughly cleaned. It is buffet style dining however and that is always good in my books.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

There are lots of things to do around campus thanks to the res life staff and the student activities board. You can go see a comedy show on the weekend or have dodge ball tournaments against the RAs. And If you feel like getting off campus, there are a ton of restaurants, theaters, and stores to go to just a short drive from the school.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Compared to other schools, the $25,000 per year is not too bad. Especially for a private college that offers things like game design and engineering. The best part is that everything you learn is very hands-on and you gain a lot of experience actually doing the things you will probably be doing when you start your career.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Its a pretty normal place, not many weird things going on unless you count the engineers walking back from working at the labs at odd hours in the middle of the night.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

It's great for pretty much anybody that just wants to have a fun college experience. It is especially great for people who want to make some great friends in an environment that is incredibly accepting of anybody as long as you're not mean to people.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

There are a surprising amount of clubs on campus for such a small school. There is anything from culinary club to paitball club and the gaming guild. You also have the major specific clubs that pretty much open to everybody even if its not your major.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

Campus safety does an excellent job of making sure everybody is safe and following school policies. They are also really nice and always welcome students to visit their office and chat.
