Will learn a lot

I'm a US student from the UK, and I've been talking to my cousin in the UK about colleges/unis. She's applying here, and it's one of her top choices. She says it's a great choice for her degree program; she's interested in Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Will enjoy being here

My cousin has visited the campus and really liked it. For UK students, it's away from home without being, say, on a different continent. For US students, it's a great school in a lovely place with enough cultural differences to be an experience without being overwhelming. After all, they speak the same language! (Well, actually...)

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

If you prefer the UK schooling style to US schools, go for it. If you're savvy about booking flights, it won't actually be much more expensive than a US school. For one thing, you won't have car expenses. (Though if you do end up driving in the UK, for whatever reason, you'll gain valuable experience driving in a different style! [I am here referring to the whole 'other side of the road on the other side of the pond' thing; as well as a different road infrastructure, and a different way of doing signs, and you get the picture] )

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

If you can, fly over and visit the campus. It will be different from US universities that you've visited - in small ways that you wouldn't be prepared for, despite their efforts to welcome overseas students. If you like the differences, as I said, finances shouldn't get in your way much.
