Describe your college in three sentences.

An amazing place to meet international students, have professors that truly love their profession and God, and a place where a student can really build up their relationship with God.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Don't seclude yourself with studying. Take some time out to participate in extracurricular activities. Go to vespers on Friday or Saturday nights. Find a church class that meets when you want it to. Join a GROW group. Find a club that interests you (there's a ton!).

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

It all depends on your major, your strengths, and how well you match with your professor. Language classes push you to learn information quickly, but leave you with a firm knowledge foundation. Science classes adequately prepare you for your upper level classes. Some of the math classes are quite rigorous, but end with a strong foundation. Major classes can be both hard and interesting at the same time. With a true interest in the subject matter, even the worst sounding class (A&P) can turn out to be quite fun.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

In the women's dorm at least, there are lots of activities that bring the different members together. Rooms can either have community bathrooms or have one shared between two rooms. The deans are amazing, and are always willing to just sit down and chat, problems or not.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

The main cafeteria leaves a little to be desired, but there is always pizza, rice and stir-fry, and salad to fall back on when the food is less than desirable. They serve a full vegetarian menu, with no meat, and there are vegan options as well. In the shop, you can buy certain items (pre-made sandwiches, drinks, ice cream, etc.) or order a freshly made sandwich, item hot off the grill, or smoothie. There are plenty of options for everyone, though it should be noted that paying attention to the cafe account is important, especially if most of the eating is not done in the main cafeteria.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

Take extracurricular classes. Join GROW groups. Join a club. Within a three hour drive of Chicago. Lots of state parks nearby. The campus is situated in the country, so don't expect there to be a shopping mall right next door, but within thirty minutes you can get to a larger city.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Great for students that want a religious university, want to have more interaction with a multicultural area, or that loves the out of doors.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

There are clubs for almost everything. From ethnic clubs (Korean, African, Haitian, etc.), to interest clubs (student missions), to academic clubs (Spanish, math and science, etc.), to outreach clubs (ASL praise, mass choir, Jewish cultural, etc.). There are options for everyone to find a club that interests them.
