Troy Nelson Memorial Character Scholarship

The Troy Nelson Memorial “Character” Scholarship Fund has been established by the Nelson family and friends to honor Troy’s memory by helping others realize their educational dreams and to continue the inspiration and character building Troy shared with the young people he met and coached.

The student must be a current member of the graduating class from ISD #31 (Bemidji High School). The student must intend to pursue post secondary education through a college, university, trade school, tech school, or other accredited non-profit technical or vocational education/training institution or program within six months of the award. Successful candidates will have participated in varsity level athletics and demonstrated involvement and positive leadership qualities in at least one of the following types of activities: community or church activities, non-school work positions, non-athletic school organized extra-curricular or volunteer activities, financial need may be considered in awarding the scholarship but is not an eligibility requirement.
