Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation
This scholarship is for individuals whose lives have been impacted by challenging circumstances (death of a significant family member; domestic violence; sexual abuse; poverty; extraordinary illness, etc.) but who, because of their motivation, have the potential to be successfully enriched by an educational opportunity. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum GPA between 2.0 and 3.5. Applicants must attend a two- or four-year accredited institution in Hawaii, but permanent residency does not have to be within the state. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in Hawaiian language, culture, and history; and a commitment to contribute to the greater community. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation; one from a social worker or social service agency describing the challenging circumstances; and the second from an employer (or teacher/counselor if not employed).
