Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship Fund
Dayton Foundation
The Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 to memorialize this gifted athlete and scholar by furnishing scholarships to Montgomery County high school graduates attending an accredited college or university. Scott Simpson died after lapsing into a diabetic coma while in his sophomore year at The Ohio State University, where he was majoring in rehabilitation therapy. The Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship Fund is a permanent endowment of The Dayton Foundation’s African-American Community Fund. The Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship Committee and the Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program are responsible for the administration of the award offered to a high school senior. Students must have participated in organized high school sports.
