To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be women who are 17 years of age or older and be residents of Onslow County, North Carolina, for a minimum of six months. Applicants must demonstrate that they have been out of the workforce for a period of time, or need to upgrade their skills or education in order to succeed in their career, or need to change careers in order to improve their earning ability. For this scholarship, preference will be given to members of the First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville, North Carolina; to students who are single, separated, divorced, widowed or head-of-household where the husband is unable to work; and students who are 30 years of age or older.
