Peter Lyman Memorial/SAGE Scholarship in New Media

This scholarship is for students who have applied for admission to a formal program of library and information studies leading to a master's degree. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be planning to specialize in the field of new media (defined as a culmination of how digital technology has transformed culture and business within the last 25+ years and defines the evolution and revolution in digital communications and human-computer interaction). Applicants must have completed no more than 12 semester hours towards an MLS, MLIS, or MIS prior to June 1 of the year awarded and they must be US or Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Factors considered include academic excellence, leadership, and evidence of commitment to a career in librarianship. Achievement in these areas may best be demonstrated by statements indicating the nature of library and other experience, by professional references, and by the personal statement (which is part of the online application).
