MAPGA-APA Apprentice Scholarship
Professional Golfers Association of America
To be eligible, an apprentice must be a member of the MAPGA Assistant Professional Association (APA) among other criteria. On a calendar year basis, several scholarships (for 2009 there will be a minimum of four at each level for $500 each) will be awarded to the top achievers, based on scores from the “Knowledge Test” at each of the three PGA PGM program checkpoint levels. Scores used are original test scores only. Retakes are not eligible. If there is a tie for the final scholarship at any level, that money will be split accordingly. The specific number of scholarships and dollar amounts to be awarded in future years will be based on the “financial health” of the scholarship fund and announced in the fall of the year. The Scholarship recipients will be notified and announced in January of the following year. For complete eligibility requirements, please contact the Section’s A-8 Director or the MAPGA’s Membership Director (540-720-7420 ext.126).
