Applicant must a resident of Cherokee, Nacogdoches, or Smith County and a graduate or graduating senior from any public, private, or home school in one of those counties. Applicants must be the child of a current employee of the State of Texas. (Independent school district employees are not considered employees of the State.) Applicants must have demonstrated the potential to make a worthy contribution to the community and have excellent moral character. Applicants must be under the age of 22 years old at the time of their initial application.
